Mary Shell, Artist, Teacher Workshop Facilitator and speaker on the healing qualities of the creative process and quantum thinking. Mary has been a professional artist since the age of 14 completing a wedding portrait. Her career began in the mid l960s as a fashion illustrator which took her to exotic places like London, Miami and New York working with high fashion.
Unlike most artists Mary has thrived to maintain a variety of styles and themes in her work. “Every artist should evolve. “ she admits. She teaches sculpture, painting and mold making classes in her studio every Saturday 1-4pm. “I like to create art that shows diversity, creativity and unlimited imagination...and makes you think.” Mary Shell |

Mary’s award winning artwork has been a collectors favorite for many years and her artwork has graced the cover of many magazines. Within this website you will discover the diversity of styles and theme Mary chooses to expresses her spirit. After a 7 years spiritual retreat deep in the giant redwood forest of Northern California, Mary and her husband Ivan have settled in a small community in Colorado where she continues to give classes and create great artwork in her studio. Mary also conducts workshops on the healing qualities of the creative process and heads her ‘Creative Woman’s Circle’ where woman gather to enhance their creative process and enrich their lives. Meetings are EVERY Wednesday (except for Christmas if it should be on a Wed.) Studio is open at 6pm.
Mary also conducts her SACRED DRUM MAKING WORKSHOP; a 3 part clay drum making workshop utilizing the 4 stages of the ancient rite of passage. Find out more HERE.

There was no construction work done to the house...just the illusion created with exterior and interior murals. Total time it took me to complete this project: 3 months

Biography and Work History
I have been an artist all my life and I don’t think I can separate life from art. I am thankful for the full scholarships I received throughout my training. I consider my work to be unusual and at times a bit edgy, which is necessary to interpret life. I am constantly evolving and so is my artwork. I look forward to working in metal as well as continue to work in 2 and 3D art. I will continue to seek out galleries to show my work as well as continue my community involvement to make art available to all children and adults.
EDUCATION CREDITS AND ACHIEVEMENTS Created www.ConsciousAwarenessMagazine.com Warner Brothers Studios: murals WORK HISTORY 2011: Facilitate the Art & Spirit Expo event. Continuing classes, paintings and sculptures. 2009– 2010: Moved to Canon City, Colorado where I continue to create paintings, sculpture, give art classes and workshops, retreats and woman’s circles. 2006-2008: Completed numerous interior and exterior murals. Fabricated 3D fantasy theme room for retail store. Co leader of ‘The Art of Being You’ Workshops along with Shoshanna April, LCSW, BCD, CHT. Began creating ‘Inner Vision Portraits’. Owner / Designer of ‘Bohemian Funk’ ™ Clothing Line showcased at As You Wish, Lake Tahoe, CA . Organized the San Anselmo New Moon Psychic Fair 2008 in Marin County.
2003-2006: Opened Adventure Graphics 2 in Huntington Beach, CA. Published book: “Creating from Your Soul”, design, sculpture, painting, teaching & workshops on creative process. Gallery Director, Huntington Beach Art Association. Judge for art competition Cal State Fullerton.
1991-1995: Opened Marshall Studio, Kona, Hawaii. (Sculpture, painting and teaching. Developed 4 step workshop/lecture on the creative process).
1992-2003: Adventure Graphics Art Gallery and Studio. (Screen-printing, illustrations, sculpture, painting, workshop facilitator on creative process. Shaman Drum making workshops. The Art of Being You workshops. Creating from Your Soul workshops. Art classes. 1978-1991: Opened Medusa Graphics (illustrations, logo design, murals, and sculptures).
